Westminster, MD, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 – The Carroll County Board of Commissioners (BCC) is seeking to immediately fill an opening on the Carroll County Administrative Charging Committee.

The Administrative Charging Committee (ACC) consists of 5 members, including the chairperson of the Police Accountability Board, 2 members appointed by the County Commissioners, and 2 members selected by the Police Accountability Board.  This vacancy fulfills one of the County Commissioners' appointments.

The purpose of the ACC is to review local law enforcement agency's complaints of police misconduct and to determine whether to charge the officer who is the subject of the complaint. The ACC meets at 9:00 am on the third Wednesday of each month at 225 North Center St., Westminster. The length of the monthly meeting is determined by how many cases are scheduled for review. Meetings may last 30 minutes or for a couple of hours depending on the caseload.  Members of the ACC serve a 2-year term and if desired can be re-appointed for a second term.  A committee member is not eligible for reappointment after a total of 4 years of service.  Click here for more information about the ACC.
